Vancouver, B.C. (Oct. 12/17 – Hastings Racecourse General Manager and Director, B.C. Racing Darren MacDonald said Wednesday that a “lack of entries” has forced cancellation of Sunday’s card.

“We will be going with a nine-race card Saturday at our regular 1:50 p.m. start,” MacDonald said. “But due to a lack of entries there will not be live racing on Sunday.”

Hastings Racecourse will be open Sunday for its normal simulcast coverage from major racetracks in North America.

Included in the nine-race card Saturday will be a special ‘Salute to Baseball Canada’ acknowledging three members of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame living in Vancouver: Ray Carter (2017), Wayne Norton (2016) and John Haar (2007).
