Race #1
1st - #5 Trinidad Bay | 2nd - #6 Dr. J.C. | 3rd - #4 Market Bust
COMMENTARY : The #5 TRINIDAD BAY was fourth against much tougher company last time and a repeat of that race should get him the money in this easier spot. The #6 DR. J.C. has been a fan favourite throughout much of the year but still has not delivered a win for loyal supporters; perhaps today ?? The #4 MARKET BUST has been on the board in his last two and seems to be getting close to a victory; strong TRIACTOR threat.
Race #2
1st - #2 Ruthwell | 2nd - #3 Secret Allstar | 3rd - #1 Fire Boss
COMMENTARY : The #1 MISMANTLE is in an easier spot today and I’ll gamble that she can carry her speed the entire way with these gals. The #2 ACKNOWLEDGE could take the trip in behind the speed and if there’s a pace duel (which could easily happen) she might finally get the big prize. The #3 MYKENTUCKYPRINCESS is an unknown that has speed so give her a look.
Race #3
1st - #3 Right Honorable | 2nd - #4 Saratoga Avenue | 3rd - #2 Golf Tease
COMMENTARY : The #3 RIGHT HONORABLE turned in a big effort in his latest finishing second despite racing three wide the entire journey; he loses leading rider (not a surprise as he's ridden everything in the Troy Taylor barn) but I don't think it'll matter. The #4 SARATOGA AVENUE is well-bred and stretches out to a better trip for him so I expect a good run from him. The #2 GOLF TEASE has excellent works in preparation for her career debut and hails from a top barn so give her look.
Race #4
1st - #4 Devils Knight | 2nd - #6 Ghost Pirate | 3rd - #2 Final Kat
COMMENTARY : The #4 DEVILS KNIGHT is down at the bottom claiming level after a disappointing effort with $11,000 types; he has speed and leading rider in the irons so if he can get into a decent spot early he should win the cash. The #6 GHOST PIRATE is a three year old tackling older but his speed makes him a huge threat. The #2 FINAL KAT finally got his first win of the year late last month and if the top two get into a battle for the lead he should be the one sitting in the perfect striking position.
Race #5
1st - #3 Area Code | 2nd - #2 Tacky | 3rd - #8 Williwaw
COMMENTARY : The #3 AREA CODE raced very wide throughout in his first try at this reduced level causing him to finish second as the heavy favourite; his new connections opt to put him right back where he'll be very competitive and as long as he gets a decent trip he should win. The #2 TACKY encountered some trouble in his return to Hastings and he ended up a no-threat third; he's not really running at his best distance today but he's not facing the strongest of fields either so I've put him in for second. The #8 WILLIWAW didn't care for the sealed slop track that he raced over last time so I'll give him another shot on a fast and dry strip.
Race #6
1st - #4 Pingita | 2nd - #6 That Cahill Knight | 3rd - #9 Actsensual
COMMENTARY : The #4 PINGITA was going to win her latest easily but couldn't find racing room in the stretch; there appears to be enough speed to set her up again today and she'll just need a lane to run in to win the money. The #6 THAT CAHILL KNIGHT was unlucky to lose her victory two weeks ago because she really did earn it as she raced four wide on the first turn and battled the entire way to the wire so she's definitely one to follow back today. The #9 ACTSENSUAL is another that found trouble in the stretch last time and if she can get a clean trip she'll right there as well.
Race #7
1st - #4 Big Shiny | 2nd - #2 Uncanny Yodel | 3rd - #5 Zoomington
COMMENTARY : The #4 BIG SHINY hasn't been in position in either of his last two sprints but should get a good trip today and with this field coming up easier than his last two I think he'll be a big factor today. The #2 UNCANNY YODEL finally broke his maiden in his 21st start and maybe the blinkers were just what he needed all along; he looks like the main competition. The #5 ZOOMINGTON is a maiden but actually fits quite nicely with this group and if the pace scenario gets heated don't be surprised to see this guy is battling for the win.
Race #8
1st - #5 Desert Alf | 2nd - #2 Star Prospector | 3rd - #1 Entry
COMMENTARY : The #5 DESERT ALF has improved greatly with each start and with his pedigree crying out for a distance of ground I think he'll continue to improve and put forth his best effort to date. The #2 STAR PROSPECTOR has done everything asked of him and now he'll try a new distance off of a bit of a layoff which is why he could be vulnerable today; he has speed and the rail so he must be respected. Both halves of the #1 ENTRY should be factors and I could definitely see one of them winning but I'll side with the #5 DESERT ALF.
Race #9
1st - #3 Jackson County | 2nd - #4 Efective | 3rd - #2 Lets Jet
COMMENTARY : The #3 JACKSON COUNTY has found a field that he should beat so let's KEY him on all wagers. The #4 EFECTIVE has been racing with better and will likely get in to the top three and the #2 LETS JET looks to be the best of the rest.
