What days of the week are Group Packages available for live racing and when does the live racing season begin? The 2008 live racing season begins April 26 and ends November 2, 2008. Live racing will take place every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, and Holidays Races start at 1:25pm. Friday afternoon racing is back from July 6 to August 24. except for August 3 long weekend we will be racing on the Monday - Races start at 2:25 pm

How do I get to Hastings Racecourse? Hastings Racecourse is conveniently located 4 miles from downtown Vancouver and just west of Highway 1. The easiest way to enter is through PNE gate 6 off Renfrew Street, North of East Hastings Street.

Is there a charge for parking? Bus parking is FREE when you enter through Gate 6 and park in Lot 9. The driver can let your guests off the bus at the Clubhouse Entrance and then proceed to Lot 9 to park.

Vehicle Parking. When you enter the PNE parking, let the attendant know you are Visiting Hastings Racecourse and they will issue you a special parking slip with redeemable coupons ($8.00 parking charge, excluding time during the PNE – see www.pne.com for more information ) A new shuttle service will run from Renfrew Sky Train Station approximately every 15 minutes. Pick-up points will be clearly marked by sandwich boards at each location

Is there a special entrance for Groups? All group guests should enter through the Lobby entrance & check in with our receptionist for direction to your location. Programs will be given out at your location.

What time should I arrive? First Post time (start of the 1st race) for Saturday, Sunday & Holiday live racing is 1:25 p.m. Friday First Post is 2:25 p.m. We recommend that you plan to arrive a minimum of 30 minutes prior to Post Time.

What is the dress code? The dress code is "smart casual". What this simply means is we do not allow sweat pants, ripped jeans, athletic shorts, tank tops and other forms of abbreviated attire.

What is the cancellation policy? Should a cancellation occur less than 30 days before your event the deposit is forfeited. If we are unable to resell the space, a cancellation fee of 50% of the total revenue lost will apply. If a cancellation is received prior to the 30 days of the event, the deposit is fully refundable. All cancellations must be received in writing.

Do I have to give a deposit? We will require a 25% deposit based on the estimated attendance, which is due at the signing of the contract. Specialty items such as Race Presentation Blankets and parking tickets may require payment in full prior to the event. Final payment is due on the day of your event. We accept Visa/MasterCard/Amex/Debit cards and company cheques.

What sort of special things do you do for groups? All Group Packages include reserved seating, official welcome in our Racing Program and by our Track Announcer. New to racing? No problem! Our Group Service Representatives will explain the ABC's of racing. They will be at your service throughout the day to answer your questions and help you pick a winning racehorse. Betting vouchers, parking tickets and liquor tickets may be added to Group Packages. See also information on Winner's Circle Presentations.

Can I customize a menu? With the exception of Silks Buffet, our Group Sales staff would be happy to customize the perfect menu to suit the style or budget for your event.

When does Silks Buffet open? The Silks Buffet opens at 12:00 pm on Saturday's, Sunday's and select Holiday Monday's. Friday afternoon.

If we arrive early, is there a bar we can go for a drink? Hastings has several bars located throughout the property. Jerome’s Sport Bar and grill opens at 9:30AM and provides bar service at 11AM each day all year round.

Can I reserve a particular area in the Silks restaurant (i.e. Window section)? Seating for groups is done on a first booked basis. If you are the first group to book that day, we can put a request in for tables at the window, for example.

Can we have a private area? Hastings Racecourse has a number of private areas available to suit the size and needs of your event. These areas would be The SkyBox or The Patio.

What time do the races finish? How much time between races? Depending on the number of races, it may take up to 5 hours to complete the race card. There is approximately 20 to 25 minutes between live races.
