FINAL DAY OF LIVE RACING AT HASTINGS To be pushed up to Saturday November 7th and named “Customer Appreciation Thank - You Day”

Vancouver, B.C. (Oct. 22/09) – Hastings Racecourse, in agreement with The Horsemen’s Benevolent & Protective Association (HBPA), today announced the cancellation of the final day of the 2009 live racing season.

The economy and the ongoing (North American) decline in wagering are two key factors in making this important joint decision.

Hastings Racecourse will now end its 2009 season on Saturday November 7th in culmination with the simulcast 26th running of the Breeders Cup at Santa Anita Racecourse in California.

“Hastings Racecourse plans to thank its loyal live thoroughbred racing fans with a “Thank – You Customer Appreciation Day” featuring $1 food and beverage specials along with other exciting surprises as the Racing industry says thank you to its loyal fans” said Raj Mutti, Hastings Racecourse General Manager.

Start time for all remaining dates is at 1:50 p.m.
