FULL CARD OF LIVE RACING SET FOR FRIDAY NIGHT AS VIRUS RUNS ITS COURSE AT HASTINGS
July 7, 2009
Vancouver, B.C. (July 8/09) – General Manager Raj Mutti announced today that horses at Hastings Racecourse are back training in large numbers and a full card has been established for this week’s Friday Night Live program.“The recent backstretch virus seems to have run its typical two-week course,” Mutti said. “We had 134 horses working out Sunday morning. The horses are training rather than stall-resting so things are getting back to normal.”
Mutti said that the Friday, July 10 card will consist of eight races, two of which will have the maximum 11 entries.
Two $50,000 stake races are on the agenda during the weekend. The Boulevard Casino for 2-year-old fillies is the feature on Saturday’s card while the River Rock Resort goes Sunday for 2-year-olds.
